The scheme involved the preparation and production of such analysis, drawings, reports and other engineering and public consultation documents necessary to enable a suitable Traffic and Parking Management Scheme to be developed.
The scheme was rolled out in three phases each involving the introduction of pay and display parking and of a number of traffic management measures in the town.
Preparation of the scheme included:
- Problem identification
- Consultation with key stakeholders (e.g. chamber of commerce, residents groups, emergency services)
- Comprehensive public consultation
- Surveys and data collection (e.g. origin-destination surveys, junction counts, parking surveys)
Each phase of the scheme was brought to the Elected Members of Fingal County Council and subsequently went through the Part 8 Planning process. The process involved:
- Production of drawings for public display
- Public consultation with residents from each street within the scheme area
- Production of a report on the submissions received
