Advance Contract for R700Thomastown Relief Road

An Advance Contract for the R700 Thomastown Relief Road was carried out in 2009. The engineering consultancy and design services provided include: preliminary design, Part 8 Planning, land acquisition by Compulsory Purchase Order, preparation of contract documents and drawings for tender, tender process and site supervision.

These works included an 80m long 2m wide steel pedestrian bridge over the Kilfane Stream (tributary of the Nore River) in Thomastown Village adjacent to an existing road bridge over this stream, 120m of road widening, footpaths, removal of existing boundary walls and replacement with 1.5m high limestone faced walls, 200m of new watermain, 130m of new foul sewer, surface water drainage and protection and diversion of utilities.
